Multicolor Licklider Transmission Protocol: An LTP Version for Future Interplanetary Links

چکیده

The Licklider Transport Protocol (LTP) is the “convergence layer” of choice in Interplanetary networks based on Delay-/Disruption-Tolerant architecture. It was designed for long-delay scheduled-intermittent links, offering either a reliable or an unreliable service, with “red” and “green” parts, respectively. aim this article to present multicolor LTP, LTP version consisting series enhancements which most significant are use monochrome sessions, introduction additional orange color “notified” definition default link colors. After thorough examination basic mechanisms all variants, discusses two scenarios where seems particularly appealing: video streaming optical interplanetary links. Numerical results offer further insight into complex also highlight difference between retransmissions bundle protocol retransmissions, latter benefitting from routing reprocessing. Multicolor has already been implemented as overlay network (ION) plug-in its have proposed Consultative Committee Space Data Systems Internetworking Services Networking working group possible inclusion next specifications (LTPv2).

Licklider Transmission Protocol (LTP), Compressed Bundle Header Encoding (CBHE), and Bundle Protocol IANA Registries

The DTNRG Research Group has defined the experimental Licklider Transmission Protocol (LTP) and the Compressed Bundle Header Encoding (CBHE) mechanism for the InterPlanetary Network ('ipn' URI scheme). Moreover, RFC 5050 defines values for the Bundle Protocol administrative record type. All of these fields are subject to a registry. For the purpose of its research work, the group has created ad...

RFC 5325 LTP - Motivation September 2008 2

This document describes the motivation for the development of the Licklider Transmission Protocol (LTP) designed to provide retransmission-based reliability over links characterized by extremely long message round-trip times (RTTs) and/or frequent interruptions in connectivity. Since communication across interplanetary space is the most prominent example of this sort of environment, LTP is prin...

Point-to-Point Protocol for the transmission of multi-protocol datagrams over Point-to-Point links

Status of this Memo This RFC specifies an IAB standards track protocol for the Internet community. Please refer to the current edition of the "IAB Official Protocol Standards" for the standardization state and status of this protocol. Abstract The Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) provides a method for transmitting datagrams over serial point-to-point links. PPP is composed of three parts: 1. A met...

Extended Future Internet: An IP Pervasive Network Including Interplanetary Communication?

Starting from the evolution of Internet, this paper addresses the concept of pervasive computing whose aim is to create a pervasive network of heterogeneous devices which communicate data with each other and with other networking devices in a seamless way through heterogeneous network portions. This operative framework is also called Future Internet. Extending the idea of pervasive computing to...

An Authentication Protocol for Future Sensor Networks

Authentication is one of the essential security services in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) for ensuring secure data sessions. Sensor node authentication ensures the confidentiality and validity of data collected by the sensor node, whereas user authentication guarantees that only legitimate users can access the sensor data. In a mobile WSN, sensor and user nodes move across the network and exc...
